My name is Karlei. I'm 40 and live in North Carolina. When I started my journey in November 2013 I weighed 170 lbs. The picture of me was taken summer of 2013 and as you can see I am overweight.



I joined Enterprise Fitness trying to get healthy and to pursue some goals I've set for myself. The gym is having a "Biggest Loser" challenge which is a program done over a 16 week period.

I know many wouldn't consider 170 lbs. fat, but it is overweight. There seems to be a general thought that unless you are severely obese you are "fat". Maybe you don't appear extremely fat to others, but I have a BMI of almost 30 and that is considered overweight.

The most important thing to me is to lose weight, and get tone. I would ultimately like to be in the best shape I've ever been but I know that'll take time.

This blog was born in January 2014 and I wanted to share my journey with others the success, my weaknesses and struggles of trying to lose weight, especially since so many weight loss blogs and programs are geared towards the severely overweight and not many towards those who have less than 100 lbs to lose. In life we are all on a journey and I am here to hopefully motivate you to live yours a little better.

I am open here and sometimes you may hear more about me than you want to know.  I am going to share stories, triumphs, recipes and my defeats. I am not close to reaching my goal of 52 lbs yet. However, I won't quit until I do. I will continue to do my best on my journey.
